Featuring Kevin Delaney, Editor and co-CEO, Quartz

Kevin J. Delaney is editor in chief and co-CEO of Quartz, the global business news site at qz.com. Kevin cofounded Quartz in 2012 and has led its pioneering approach to journalism, which has won many awards and attracted a readership around the world. Prior to Quartz, Kevin was a Wall Street Journal reporter for a decade, with postings in Paris and San Francisco. He was managing editor of WSJ.com, where he led efforts that greatly expanded the Journal’s readership, and championed prize-winning journalism projects. Earlier, Kevin was a reporter for SmartMoney Magazine and a TV producer in Montreal. He has a history degree from Yale University, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and was the Hearst digital media professional-in-residence at Columbia University. All Arts + Design Lectures are free and open to the public and are located in the BAMPFA Osher Theater. Doors open at 6pm, lectures start at 6:30pm. Most talks reach the theater capacity. Audience members are encouraged to arrive at 6pm when doors open for seating.

Arts + Design Mondays @ BAMPFA is organized and sponsored by UC Berkeley’s Arts + Design Initiative. The series is co-curated by the Art, Technology and Culture Colloquium at the Berkeley Center for New Media; the Art of Writing Program at the Doreen B. Townsend Center for the Humanities; the Bay Area Book Festival; Berkeley D-Lab; the Department of Art Practice; the Department of English; the Digital Humanities; the Graduate School of Journalism; Haas School of Business; and Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation and in collaboration with the Civic Arts Commission of the City of Berkeley; the Office of Cultural Affairs of the City of Oakland; the Global Urban Humanities Department; the College of Environmental Design; The Center for Technology and Society at the Anti-Defamation League; Digital Humanities Working Group; the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research; The Visual Resources Center.
